Max Out Your IRA Before April 18
Maxing out your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is an important step towards building savings for the future. With tax season upon us, now is the perfect time to consider making additional contributions to your IRA.
Maxing out an IRA offers great tax benefits. The amount that you contribute may be deductible from your taxable income, meaning your savings can grow, tax-deferred, until you withdraw from the account in retirement. Another advantage of maximizing your contribution is the benefit of compounding growth. The combination of a maximum contribution and dividends can generate growth of your savings, allowing the account to reach its full earning potential. This is an easy way to get higher returns on your IRA and plan wisely for retirement.
The deadline to contribute to an IRA for the 2022 tax year is April 18, 2023, so there is still time to make a tax-deferred contribution. The maximum amount you may contribute for 2022 is $6,000 for individuals under age 50, and $7,000 for those over 50.

- Resources for Getting the Car You Want: The car search process can be made considerably faster and easier with a variety of online tools or services that may speed up the process. A number of these services provide detailed information on car features, prices, the condition of used cars, and act as a database for inventories of vehicles held by car dealers and other sellers. Different services provide different benefits, and it’s important to understand what they offer and for what cost.
- Hang Up on Imposter Scams—Part 1: Imposter scams seem to never stop, and no one is immune to being victimized by them. But you can know more about imposter scams—how they operate, what are some of the imposter scam variations, and actions you can take if you’re contacted by a fraudster posing as someone else.
- What to Do with a Financial Windfall: Suppose that unexpectedly you find yourself with a financial windfall; a surprise (and perhaps surprisingly large) amount of money that you weren’t aware was coming to you. The money could be an inheritance, a lottery win, a payment from the settlement of a lawsuit, a prize from a contest, a gift from a relative, the result of the sale of possessions or investments—or it could originate from some other situation. Regardless of its origin, if you suddenly have a new, sizable chunk of money, then you now have decisions on what to do with it.
