Scholarships

Delta Community Credit Union awards $50,000 in scholarships each year to support members pursuing higher education.

Annual Scholarship Program

Through the Annual Scholarship Program, Delta Community awards five $5,000 scholarships to students pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, housing or meal costs and are paid directly to the accredited U.S. college or technical school.

Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, community involvement and an essay submission. Financial need may also be considered.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Be a Delta Community member and primary accountholder in good standing at the time of application submission (no delinquent loans, overdrawn or charged off accounts at the time the award is given, etc.). Members aged 16 and 17 can open an account with an eligible joint owner. Not a member? Open an account and become one today. 

  2. Be enrolled to attend an accredited college or university during the fall of the academic year as a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship award must be used during the specified academic year. 

  3. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as of the end of the prior semester.

Congratulations to our 2026 Scholarship Recipients

Cedric Aziamadji

Cedric Aziamadji is a senior at Arabia Mountain High School, graduating with a 4.3 GPA. He plans to attend the University of Georgia to study biomedical science. His achievements include membership in the National Honor Society, recognition as an AP Scholar and earning the Georgia Certificate of Merit. In addition to his academic success, Cedric is actively involved in several organizations, serving as co-founder of the African-Caribbean Student Association and as a member of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Cedric is also committed to giving back to his community, contributing more than 1,000 hours of service to CAC Bethel Fellowship Church as a tech and media volunteer and through its youth programs.

Iris Fernandez Goodwin

Iris Fernandez Goodwin is a senior at Florida Virtual School, graduating with a 4.6 GPA. She plans to attend Carnegie Mellon University to study psychology. Her achievements include membership in the Science National Honor Society, where she serves as president, as well as the National Honor Society, where she is an AP ambassador. She has also been recognized as a National Merit Commended Student and an AP Scholar. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Iris serves as STEAM Club president and senior class vice president. She is also dedicated to serving her community as a mentor in the “Full of Ourselves” program, which supports mental health among high school girls, and as a patient safety partner at Mayo Clinic.

Sydni Hope

Sydni Hope is a senior at Greater Atlanta Christian School, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She plans to attend Howard University to study biology. Her academic achievements include membership in the National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars and Spanish Honor Society. She is also a Gwinnett County Diamond Club Scholar Athlete, a three-time Athlete of the Month and a Presidential Scholar at Greater Atlanta Christian School. In addition to her academic success, Sydni is a member of the National Beta Club and serves as a peer tutor with Mu Alpha Theta National Math Honor Society. She is also deeply involved in her community, serving as president of the Jack and Jill of America, Dunwoody-Atlanta Chapter Teen Auxiliary, as a youth market manager for Shoes That Fit Inc., as a student leader with the Greater Atlanta Christian Missions Team and as a participant in Bridge to Better. A three-time scholar athlete, Sydni competes on the varsity softball, tennis and swim teams. In her free time, she enjoys tutoring and babysitting.

Alexandra Kuligowski

Alexandra Kuligowski is a senior at Fulton Science Academy, graduating with a GPA above 4.5. She plans to attend the University of Maryland, College Park to study electrical engineering. Her academic achievements include recognition as an Alpha Scholars Silver Medalist, with work published in the Harvard International Review. She is also the GISA state champion in extemporaneous speaking, a member of the National STEM SPARKS Honor Society and a two-time National Model United Nations keynote speaker. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Alexandra serves as team lead and structural engineer for the KorucuSAT CubeSat project and was part of a team that earned first place internationally in the Future City competition. She has also served as a quantum research intern at the Georgia Tech Cipher Lab and as a research intern with TumorQ Algorithm. She has volunteered with MIT Beaver Works and is the co-founder of Service Without Borders, a student-led initiative supporting global service efforts.

Alexander Thomas Jr.

Alexander Thomas Jr. is a senior at Charles R. Drew Charter High School, graduating with a GPA above 4.0. He plans to attend Florida A&M University to study music. His academic achievements include the STEAM Alan Turing Outstanding Student Computer Scientist Award, Highest Honor Roll and Honors with Distinction. Alexander is also an active leader in his school community, serving as a Student Government Association class representative, a peer leader for freshman students and a member of the National Honor Society. He also completed an internship with the City of Atlanta. In addition to his academic and leadership roles, Alexander volunteers with students in grades K-8 at Atlanta Teen Leader Academy and serves as a program instructor with the RISE After-School Program. He also works part time at Publix.
