A Message from Our CEO—Re-Opening Our Branches

Delta Community CEO Hank Halter

Dear Members,

During the corodivirus pandemic, we’ve focused on ensuring safe and convenient branch access for our members, including providing online scheduling of appointments. Now, as Georgia continues re-opening businesses, we are making new modifications to our branches to improve social distancing, along with additional preventive healthcare measures to allow walk-in visits to our branches without advance scheduling.

As of last Tuesday, May 26, 2020, we re-opened our branch lobbies to accommodate walk-ins from Monday through Friday, and we continue to offer scheduled appointments, as well as drive-thru service for branches that offer it. Our appointment scheduling tool has been very well received, and appointments enable you to avoid any wait time during peak hours or days. Our Kroger branches will remain closed for the time being as grocery stores and other retailers take proactive measures to regulate the number and flow of consumers in their stores. We will be working with Kroger closely in the coming weeks to reopen those locations as soon as practicable. In the meantime, we continue to service our ATMs there.

On Saturdays, we will have a slightly different procedure for branches; Delta Community branch lobbies will only be accessible by appointment, while drive-thru lanes will continue to operate as usual. We are still limiting Saturday lobby hours to appointment-only at this time due to staffing constraints posed by the current environment. Our branch employees will remain dedicated to one location instead of being permitted to work at other branches on Saturdays as in more normal circumstances. By keeping employees committed to one branch, we can better track and manage their contacts and limit the potential exposure of each branch team; however, this prevents us from being able to leverage employees at locations without Saturday hours at ones that do.

As we re-open our branches to accommodate both walk-ins and appointments, the health of our members and employees is our priority. When visiting our branches, you’ll notice we’ve implemented several safety measures, including social distancing markers on the flooring, cough guards at concierge desks and teller windows and our employees wearing face masks. We recommend you wear a face mask while in the branch to protect yourself, other members and Delta Community employees.

Thank you for your continued loyalty to Delta Community. Our mission is constant: we’re committed to offering superior service and trustworthy financial products now—and in the better days that we know are ahead!

Michaela (right) nominated her mom with, “ My mother is so special to me because of her many sacrifices. The sacrifices my mom makes are appreciated, and she makes sure I can achieve my dreams. Monthly Blogs

  • Creating a More Cyber Secure Home Network: While corporate computers being used at home may have a variety of security systems installed, such as a computer antivirus/antimalware suite and Virtual Private Network (VPN) that are always on or turn on automatically when needed, security at home begins with securing your network to provide more protection from possible attack from malware, scammers, and phishing. A key step in security improvement is managing the hardware that delivers your internet service.
  • Watch Out for Coronavirus EIP Fraudsters: Unfortunately, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic provides an exploitable opportunity for fraudsters to prey on people who are afraid, uninformed, misinformed, and even desperate due to how the pandemic has disrupted lives, companies and our country. Fraudsters may go after bank and checking accounts, credit cards and your identity, and they will use sophisticated software and highly trained and scripted telephone and email agents—who sound very official and legitimate—to trick us into giving them what they want.
