This quote is so true because every experience is designed to springboard you into a new and wondrous opportunity. For me, Delta Community Credit Union was one of those perfect opportunities.
It was a little over a year ago that I accepted the amazing opportunity to become Delta Community’s Quarter Reporter. Becoming the voice of the Credit Union’s young adult financial banking resource, Quarterlife, has been one of the best experiences of my adulthood. I’ve had the chance to share my financial advice with other millennials and learn more about financial stability by working with the professionals at Delta Community. I was able to put my passion for journalism and public relations in action through blogs, videos, magazines, radio, television and live events. It has been an incredibly fun-filled journey, and I can’t thank my Delta Community family enough for affording me this unforgettable opportunity.
Here are just a few of the highlights of my time as Quarter Reporter:
1. My “lights, camera, action!” moments were definitely a lot of fun. I enjoyed preparing for and filming interviews, videos, commercials and radio spots. Check out some of my videos on the Quarterlife Youtube Channel.
2. Live events were especially memorable. I loved watching Delta Community members light up with excitement as they won giveaways at a Cash Cube event or drove off in their new vehicle at one of the Car Sales.
3. My favorite blog was Live to Give where I gave tips on how to help others without hurting your finances. This is the holiday season, so I encourage everyone to give in ways you can to make a difference in the lives of others.
4. Last but not least, I enjoyed sharing tips with my fellow Quarterlifers as I learned about finances along the way.
I’d known Delta Community for years as a member, but gained a whole new perspective working as part of the team. Unlike most banks, Delta Community truly has a mission of helping its members have better financial lives, and this makes me even more proud to be a member and a part of a this Credit Union.
