Delta Community Credit Union recently opened its 27th branch location – its first in Alpharetta – and the person chosen to lead the team was hired for his experience in opening new branches and introducing them to the community.
“There’s a lot of fun in opening a brand new location,” said Alpharetta Branch Manager Lee Wilson. “I’m looking forward to creating a personal experience for our members, our employees and this community, and I know my team feels the same way.”
In May, Wilson and his team of eight employees opened Delta Community’s Alpharetta branch, which is located in the former First Citizens Bank building at 11575 Haynes Bridge Road. In addition to nine front-line branch employees, the location also has professionals who specialize in home loans, commercial loans and investment and retirement advice. The goal is to provide convenient access to a wide range of products and services for members of Delta Community and other credit unions in its “shared-branch” network.
As Georgia’s largest credit union, Delta Community has about 10,000 customers (called “members” in the credit union industry) living near its new Alpharetta location. With two other branches already located in North Fulton, Delta Community has invested more than $40,000 in this area in the past four years through support of local chambers of commerce, event and school sponsorships, and charitable giving. Wilson says he and his team are committed to further contributing to the Alpharetta community.
“It doesn’t matter whether you’re helping people with auto loans or selling auto parts,” said Wilson. “Providing an excellent experience to your customers and neighbors is the key to success and I’m confident our team will do just that. I’m excited to see how we contribute to the Alpharetta community.”
Wilson brings to the job years of financial experience in a wide range of locations across the U.S. “My wife and I have lived in Georgia for 12 years and we love this climate – in terms of both people and the weather,” he said. “We raised three children here, and now we have three grandchildren here. One thing we have learned is, wherever you raise your family, that really does become your home.”
